But the description of these sounded so yummy that I was determined to make them well. So after talking with King Arthur's online help, I found out I hadn't kneaded them long enough. So today I let my mixer knead the dough for 10 minutes. The rolls came out fluffy and wonderful! Thanks for another winning recipe!

These were sooooo easy and they worked! I was stoked to try them out. Mine weren't very pretty, but I suspect if I made them again they might look better. We made bean burgers from Backseat Gourmet's blog to serve with them- http://backseatgourmet.blogspot.com/2010/03/bean-burgers-yum.html=\. Delish!

Did you use instant yeast? If you used regular active dry, you have to dissolve it in the water for 5-10 minutes first to activate it. The only other thing I can think of is that maybe you didn't let it rise long enough? It can take longer if your house isn't very warm. Other than that I'm not sure. One of my friends had a similar problem with the recipe, but she's going to try them again as well. Let me know if you figure it out or if you have other questions! It's a King Arthur Flour recipe, too, so you can always call their bakers hotline with questions – they're great.

And thank you for your kind words! Your comment made my day! (other than my recipe not working out well for you). 🙂

I'm not sure what I did wrong, I really just threw everything into the bowl and mixed it in the Kitchen Aid. i will definitely try them once more and see what happens. BTW, I use your recipes all the time! I found your blog through Tastespotting- I think you cook very similiar to the way I cook so I'm pretty happy about that! And, I like that you have pictures.

And yes, you just mix everything (with your dough hook, or by hand) until it forms a soft smooth dough. The rest of it is just waiting for it to rise! So good and so worth it. Let me know if you try them 🙂

Is the recipe really as easy as throwing all the ingredients into a bowl and mixing together?

I love making homemade bread, and have been contemplating making some mini hamburger rolls for sliders… This looks like a great recipe to try!
