Just my opinion, these things are not cheap.

I would totally use it as an excuse to buy a new one. 😉 I have never tried to get one fixed before, so I couldn’t say for sure. Good luck!

It still works. There isn’t any kitchenaid repair store in PA. Closest one is in Brooklyn, NY. I could send it back to the factory for $35 round trip, pay $25 for diagnostic, repairs could be up to $200, but not more. Do you think it’s worth it? I’ve had it for 15 years. I have 2 other counter mixers (1 kitchenaid with a smaller bowl and a sunbeam) and 1 hand mixer, but this is mixer is truly my sous chef. I use it for everything. I’m torn and need advise

I immediately called Kitchen Aid (just as I would call the pediatric doc if my kiddo had taken a big fall!)and they told me that if I would refer to my owner's manual (who reads those?!) that it states to only knead bread for two minutes. I protested and said that my recipe said to knead for five and they told me that it didn't matter what the recipe said…in a Kitchen Aid mixer, you only need to knead for two minutes. Now I know….
