Yeah, seriously – fantastic!! If we were independently wealthy, there’d be a lot of Europe happening in our lives… We got to tour Western Germany in ’09 and I’m getting antsy to go back. The thing I noticed was the quality difference – things last over there, because people build stuff right to start with (including desserts!) and then they take care of it. I was just reminiscing today, and most of my memories wandered to the apfel kugel, schnitzel, pommes (or Kartoffel, depending), the spaghetti eis, the amazing kaffe – yeah, now I’m really getting hungry!!! So glad you got to go with him and have an unforgettable experience!

(PS – I have a book called Dr. Oetker’s German Baking Today – you need to grab that on Amazon and do some posts from it – mmmmmmm…)

I and my hubby visited Switzerland on May 2012 and stayed in Postilon Hotel near Lake Lucerne, and we went up to Glacier 3000 by cable car… yes, it’s true, all the views in Switzerland were stunning and amazing….
