It’s time for a little confession. I realize this may get me shunned (especially in my hometown of Pittsburgh!), but….I don’t like football. I don’t like to watch it, I never liked playing football with my friends, I don’t even like playing catch with a football. If there was one thing Mike could change about me, I’m pretty sure this would be it.

That being said, I will watch the Superbowl. I like the party atmosphere (check out these food ideas!), I like that the Steelers are playing, but most of all, I like the food. Food like this delightful chocolate chip cookie dough dip you see here.

I saw this recipe on Jessica’s blog and made it the very next day. When it comes to chocolate chip cookie dough dip, I don’t waste any time. 🙂

This stuff is awesome and really does tastes like cookie dough! I served it with animal crackers, but I think graham crackers would be a good choice as well. Or you could just eat it with a spoon, I won’t tell. Although if you serve it at your Superbowl party, a spoon might not be the best option. 🙂

P.S. I recommend also trying other dessert dips such as this amazing S’mores Dip and this delightful Red Velvet Cheese Ball recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 8-ounce block of cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 to 1 cup powdered sugar (*to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips, plus extra for sprinkling

Directions:

  1. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the brown sugar until it dissolves and the mixture starts to bubble. Stir in vanilla and set aside to cool.
  2. In a separate bowl, cream the cream cheese and powdered sugar together for 60 seconds. With the mixer on low speed, add in brown sugar and butter mixture. Mix until combined. Stir in the mini chocolate chips.
  3. Garnish with additional mini chocolate chips. Serve with animal cracker, nilla wafers or graham crackers.
