A Weekend Confession

What follows was an actual conversation with my husband.

Me: I ate really healthy today!

Mike: That’s great! But didn’t you tell me you ate treats at work?

Me: oh…well, yes, but just a couple of bites. And that’s it! Except…I almost forgot…I had some mini m&m’s when I came home from work…but not very many!

Mike: That doesn’t seem too bad…

Me: oh…and…um…there were two oreos left so I ate the creme filling out of them.

Mike: You ate the cream filling out of them? Who does that?

Me: It’s the best part!

Mike: So you still claim you ate healthy today?

Me: Yes! That’s not that much chocolate. Oh…umm…except….

Mike: Yes?

Me: (by this point I’m laughing so hard I can hardly talk): I had peanut butter hot chocolate for dinner. But I ate a salad too!

Is it any wonder the dessert category of my blog is so large??

  1. bahahaha sounds like me 🙂 great job!

  2. This reminds me of a convo I'd have with my husband! Eating healthy is overrated anyway 🙂 By the way, those cupcakes look amazing.

  3. A person can't get through life very well without a sense of humor.

  4. Have to say – sounds just like a conversation that would happen in my kitchen!

  5. Hahaha I love your mentality of healthy:-)

  6. Hilarious! Congrats on your mostly healthy day! 🙂

  7. I love those healthy days! What would we do without them?

  8. I'm the complete opposite. I could honestly go the rest of my life without eating a cookie or a brownie or anything too sweet. I don't even like yogurt that is sweetened! My blog is filled with all salty recipes 🙂 Happy Sunday!

  9. Haha, love it! At least you tried…. 🙂

  10. That is too funny. Sounds exactly like something I would do and say.

  11. Haha. We all go through the same thing!

  12. You are not alone, hon. Sometimes I think I'm basically running a dessert blog, with an occasional nod towards real food.

But really…what's the point of life if not dessert?

  13. I came up with the bright idea that I was going to give up chocolate for lent. My conversation with Hubby sounded about like yours 🙂 I finally qualified it that the chocolate I was giving up was just my “after dinner” chocolate, so that my afternoon cup of hot chocolate, and the chocolate chips in my morning granola bars didn't count. I love my chocolate!

  14. Hahaha this is such a funny story. You sound like me…everyday 🙂

  15. I like to blame my blog for my unhealthy eating. I mean, the people of the internet demand sweets and who am I to deny them?

  16. that sounds like me when I finally remeber all the stuff I eat over the weekend. This looks nice.

  17. HA this could've been a conversation between me and my husband! hilarious!
