On April 17, 2010, food bloggers from around the country will be kicking off the Share our Strength (SOS) fundraising season with the first Food Bloggers Bake Sale! SOS is a national organization that is fighting to make sure no child grows up hungry. The Food Bloggers Bake Sale will be part of the Great American Bake Sale, an event put on every year by SOS to raise money to support their efforts. Nearly 1 in 4 children in America struggle with hunger, and SOS is fighting to change that. More information about the Great American Bake Sale and the efforts of Share our Strength can be found at http://gabs.strength.org/. I’m helping to organize the bake sale in Michigan, and I’m happy to say that we have a location! The sale will be held at Kava House, just south of Grand Rapids on April 17. (exact times TBD – tentatively 10:00-2:00) If you’re a Michigan reader (or food blogger), we’d love to have you get involved and join in the fun! Nearly 17 million children in America face hunger, and this is a great way to show your support and help in a very real way. If you are in the Grand Rapids area, please consider stopping by on April 17 and enjoying our treats! As an added benefit, we will be right outside Kava House, and they have some great coffee.
Address: 6333 Kalamazoo Avenue Southeast, Kentwood
