Peanut Butter Nutella Swirl Cookies

Day 5 of the 12 Days of Christmas Treats! These peanut butter nutella swirl cookies are absolutely wonderful.  If you like peanut butter and nutella, you will love these. They are basically better versions of the classic peanut butter cookie.

Peanut Butter Nutella Swirl Cookies

You make a peanut butter cookie dough, then swirl a generous amount of nutella into the dough before baking. The combination of peanut butter and nutella is so good, and really makes these cookies stand out. They are soft and chewy and delicious – enjoy! 🙂

Peanut Butter Nutella Swirl Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1-3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup Nutella

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat together butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla and beat until well combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix into the butter mixture until just combined.
  2. Microwave Nutella for 20-30 seconds and then drizzle over the dough. Fold in Nutella with a spatula until well-distributed. Chill the dough in the fridge for 15 minutes.
  3. Roll dough into small balls and place about an inch apart on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Use a fork to press down the balls slightly.
  4. Bake until the edges are lightly browned, about 8-10 minutes. Allow cookies to cool on the pan for 2 minutes, and then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.

  1. What a great combo! Anything with Nutella goes quickly in my house so I’m sure these would be a big hit:-) They look nice and chewy..

  2. Yum! Nutella in cookies always makes me swoon!

  3. Now these are just insanity. Pure, unadulterated insanity, in the best possible way. I need to make these for my other half, who is both a peanut butter AND nutella fiend. He might actually keel over to find both in one cookie. Thanks for the recipe!

  7. My cookies came out really dry. I checked all of my ingredients and used the correct amounts. Has anyone else had this issue?
    Thanks

  8. Mine came out dry too. I added a splash of milk to make the dough stickier.

  9. I love these cookies! I made the following substitutions and they also came out great!
    Instead of:
3/4 cup Peanut butter I used 1/2 cup
    Added:
1/2 cup of Chocolate chips (I made a double batch and used Semi-sweet, Milk, and Reeses Peanut butter chips)
    Removed:
Vanilla extract ( ran out )

I cooked them for 9-10 mins, pulled them out, flipped them on the pan, and let them cool that way. I didn’t use parchment paper so I had to flip them to avoid burning.

  10. adding a splash of milk definitely helped a ton. I have a batch in the oven right now and so far they are looking wonderful!

  11. I had a feeling the dough for this recipe would come dry, and as I put the ingredients together, sure enough, it was. So, I added another egg yolk, and since I was using natural peanut butter, I used the peanut oil to moisten the dough. Though, you could also probably use another stick of butter for the same affect. Most often, I brown two sticks of butter for a hazelnutty result to use in cookie batter

  12. I have made this recipe countless times, thank you for sharing it! I have yet to have someone turn down seconds!

  13. Ive made these twice. Big hit in our house. No problems with them being too dry.

  14. These are so good
